Jeanne-Marie Byington, founded JM Byington & Associates - a public relations and marketing agency - in 1996. She is an award-winning public relations and marketing consultant with experience in both major and moderate sized public relations agencies. She has directed successful PR campaigns for international corporations, family-owned businesses, associations and startups.
A former magazine editor—Art & Antiques—Jeanne was given an Honorary Recognition Award by the International Furnishings and Design Association [IFDA], an IFDA Circle of Excellence Award in the public relations/advertising category and was the only public relations person named one of the “Women of the Year” by Wallcoverings, Windows & Interior Fashion magazine. In 2009, Byington was given the NYWICI Liz Hoover Award for distinguished service/leadership.
Byington has represented Domco resilient sheet flooring; Nafco by Tarkett, luxury vinyl tile; FSC Wallcoverings–Gramercy and Village brands; Waverly Home Fashions, window treatments, luxury bedding, wallpaper and fabrics; Lindal Cedar Homes and Lindal SunRooms; wall mounting products with Command Adhesive from 3M; Bridget Dobson Studios, manufacturer of fine china and home accessories; the Tile Promotion Board and Coverings, an annual trade show that included the International Tile & Stone Exposition, the International Wall Covering Exposition and the International Flooring Exposition; ASPIRE, for Cooper Wiring Devices, a division of Cooper Industries; American Art Marketing and David J. Lunin Furniture Maker. The agency has also conducted special projects for other 3M brands such as 3M Propore fabric and 3M Radiant Light Film. A longtime mentor, Byington directs Baruch College’s Executive Student Partnership program for graduate corporate communications students and is a board member/development committee chair of the New York Women in Communications [NYWICI] Foundation. A former member of the International Furnishing and Design Association’s [IFDA] board of trustees, she was also on its Foundation board and is past president of the New York chapter.
